“Comme un air de cantate”
Together with soprano Heather Newhouse, violinist & organist Emmanuelle Dauvin embarks their duet in a journey through arias and instrumental pieces for soprano, violin and bass: a poetic and intimate tribute to the music of J.S. Bach.
Beyond a historical practice, what the 2 musicians rediscover is the freedom of mind that the passionate and virtuoso artists of the Baroque era used to display.
Excerpts from J.S. Bach’s Cantatas, Sonatas & Partitas, and Organ Works; Bertrand de Bacilly’s Préludes d’Airs Spirituels.
> Sunday August 18, 6:30pm <
Cabaret Baroque at the Petit Rignac Café!
“Ô FESTES CELESTES”, by Nysiak Duet Let’s go! Come and embark with us at the “Festes Célestes” Tavern. You’ll find plenty of food and drinks to satiate you!But you’ll also need to satisfy your other senses! That’s why the Nysia Duet, made up of perky lutenist Pierre-Baptiste Brioude and velvety singer Ariane Le Fournis, will accompany you on your repast with sweet songs… of love? They will deploy all their savoir-faire, in order to transport you to the pivotal period of the late Renaissance and early Baroque, where melodies range from the most sensual to the most lewd. You’ll hear airs à boire, chansons de rencontres, and airs de cour about love, tenderness and much more! All the burlesque of the era comes through in these tunes, where the most elevated subjects mix with the most trivial! The concert will be followed by a presentation of the instruments. We hope many of you will join us there… |
